Inner ring road land acquisition gets time-bound push; land hearing cases by Aug 31

Collector Jitendra Dudi directed officials to review cases pending at different levels and take immediate action

Pune: The land acquisition process for the proposed inner ring road has been placed on a time-bound schedule. The district administration has directed officials to submit all acquisition cases by Aug 31 and commence land measurement by Sept 10.Collector Jitendra Dudi and Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) commissioner Naval Kishore Ram issued these directives during a review meeting held at the collectorate on Friday. The project is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion and strengthen the city’s future transport network. According to officials, departments must also hold a meeting by Oct 10 to determine market values and land rates to expedite further proceedings. The meeting was attended by various stakeholders, department heads, and representatives from the consulting agency.During the session, officials reviewed land availability, the status of pending acquisition cases, landowner details, and the availability of govt land. They also discussed various hurdles currently delaying the process.Collector Dudi directed officials to review cases pending at different levels and take immediate action. Departments have been tasked with completing all necessary documentation and submitting land acquisition proposals to the district administration by the Aug 31 deadline.The next phase involves the physical measurement of the land. Officials were instructed to begin this process by Sept 10 and complete all related work, including the preparation of maps and technical requirements, within the stipulated timeframe.Following the measurement phase, the administration plans to convene a meeting of the concerned departments by Oct 10 to finalise the market value and rates for the properties. Dudi urged officials to prepare all required data and proposals well in advance.“Making the required land available is crucial for moving the project forward,” Dudi said. He said there should be no unnecessary delays at any stage and instructed departments to resolve issues internally or immediately escalate matters requiring higher-level intervention.The PMRDA, PMC, the land acquisition department, revenue officials, and the consulting agency have been told to work in close coordination to meet the fixed deadlines for each stage. The departments have also been directed to maintain regular coordination and submit periodic progress reports on the acquisition process. Pending matters will be reviewed regularly to ensure a swift resolution.This time-bound exercise is expected to accelerate the availability of land for the subsequent stages of the inner ring road project.
