32-year-old man stabs his mother to death over alcohol

Pune: A 32-year-old man allegedly stabbed his mother (50) to death at their residence in Vishrantwadi around 9.30pm on Saturday.The incident happened following an argument. Rajendra Panhale, senior inspector of the Vishrantwadi police, said, “The man, who is unemployed, has been arrested for stabbing his mother to death. He was earlier receiving treatment for a mental health condition. He, however, had been doing well for the past two years, but became an alcoholic.”His mother, the officer said, worked as a maid.“On Saturday night, he demanded money from his mother to buy alcohol. He got enraged when she refused and he took a sharp knife from the kitchen and stabbed her in the neck,” he said.
