PM assures support to drought-hit Maha farmers

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses the virtual inauguration of Pune Metro Line 3 on Tuesday

Pune: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said water conservation efforts under chief minister Devendra Fadnavis had made progress in Maharashtra but the natural calamity had created serious difficulties, acknowledging the hardships of the state’s farmers because of adverse weather.“I assure every farmer in Maharashtra that during this crisis, the NDA government stands firmly with them and will support them with full sensitivity,” he said while virtually inaugurating the Pune Metro Line 3.Referring to state govt assistance and PM-Kisan fund transfers, Modi urged farmers not to worry. He appealed to citizens to remember the drought-hit families during Diwali and ensure the festivities reached their homes. “We must not forget the difficulties faced by drought-affected citizens and farmers. We will face this crisis together,” he said.
